Using information from a rejection

Posted on August 30, 2011 By Jodi

Monday, August 29, 2911, I sent this out to an agent.  It was rejected.  The good thing is the agent, Joanna Volpe, gave feedback that has already proven valuable.  This week, I leave you with this query.  In the next couple of weeks you will find an edited version.

Comments are appreciated.  Happy reading and writing.

 Genre: Science Fiction

One world destroyed, another teaming with life.  A mutated substance again threatens annihilation.

Story Concept: On an unfamiliar world, Alexandra “Xandra” M’Ren wants only to lead a peaceful solitary existence. The death of her fiancé and the destruction of a planet robbed her of the life she longed for. Physical scars hidden by protecting material, she hides away in a seaside cabin.  Drawn out into the wide expanse of the unfamiliar world of her birth, the diverse cultures and peoples accept her as one of their own. When she discovers the substance that destroyed her life is hidden in the two major cities, she sets out to retrieve them and leave this vibrant new life behind. An evil force, intent on revenge, captures her and one of the vials of certain death. Xandra must accept the challenge to unite the cultures of her new home.  In the process she finds it is not too late forever, to have the life and love she desires.

Author’s Bio: From my first memories, imagination contributed to a lively pastime of writing.  In my stories, whether they take place on earth or some undiscovered world, the essence of the area where I grew up, and now live, permeate.  On the Northern California coast or in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley, there is diverse and vibrant life, some human, some not.  With Science Fiction I travel to incredible locations, create new lives and cultures, using my imagination and experiences.

Title of Book: Not Too Late Forever
