Rough draft body of query

A story that unites diversity to save a world from evil that would destroy it. A woman overcomes devastating loss and destruction to save a planet and find love again

Story Concept: Naldo is a planet in a binary star system.  Over time the cultures have segregated themselves.  The human population consider themselves native to the planet.  Farmers by trade, they are the dominant landowners.  Non’s, recent immigrants for the most part, come from other worlds.  Of the Nons, few live inland.  Most live in New Hope, newest of the two major cities.  Other cultures; the Ciboney lead a secluded life in the mountainous area of the major continent.   A mysterious humanoid civilization, they restrict contact with others.  Luminaries, a monastic group, keep themselves isolated on an island in the middle of the northwestern ocean.  From there they train and reach beyond the planet to aid life forms across the universe.  Additional cultures: Laquedian and Zehnanian inhabit the oceans.

Alexandra ‘Xandra’ M’Ren seeks only isolation and solitude.  After the death of her fiancé and the destruction of a world, she needs time to heal mentally and physically.  Raised on space stations, her intention is to regain her strength and return to a solitary existence on a ship traveling through deep space.  That is not what she finds on her birth planet, Naldo.  Opportunity for a new life and love are overshadowed by the presence of an evil being that will use anything to gain revenge for the death of his family.  Naldonian troops and others destroyed the globule life forms during a battle in a war between two major powers.

A mutated substance that devoured one world comes into the possession of the revenge seeking alien.  Will the diverse cultures of Naldo unite to help Xandra save their world?

Author’s Bio: From my first memories, imagination contributed to a lively pastime of writing.  My stories, whether they take place on earth or some undiscovered world, bring the essence of the area where I grew up, and now live.  On the Northern California coast or in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley, there is diverse and vibrant life.  With Science Fiction I travel to incredible locations, create new lives and cultures, using my imagination and experiences.
