I’ve enjoyed concentrating on my writing each day in the month of November for NaNoWriMo. This year I will not claim being a winner by writing 50k words or more, however I have a very good start on a short story for “Writers of the Future”. I’ve also concentrated on the new beginning scene of my book, “Not Too Late Forever”. In December I plan on rewriting the final scene. For this and each Sunday, I intend to build on the chapters I have for “Misty’s Magical Shed”. As you can see, there is a lot of writing work to do.

Last Sunday I joined other writers in the Rogue Valley at the Medford International Airport, in the Kc 97 airplane, to put 2 1/2 hours in on my writing. I was stumbling along when Juliet Meredith suggested adding “plot bunnies” to the mix. The one I chose was as follows: “Your character meets a robot who seems sentient”.

Wow! Not only does this robot seem sentient, he is sentient. He is also the love interest of one of the main characters.

Now I need to get busy and build on this. One of my main wishes, when I started NaNo this year, was to once more find the passion I have for writing, something I lost with my submission rejections. There I am a success. New characters to meet and new stories to write await. Guess I’d better get back to it.

Keep the coffee flowing.

Respectfully submitted,

Jodi

Working on NaNoWriMo

Hello all,

Many writers, like myself, are typing away working to pull in enough words to be considered a winner during this run of the words in November 2017.

I have been typing away, however the hope of getting 50,000 words this year, is less than a dream. In three projects that I am switching between, as well as another I’m gathering information for, I’m trying to pull together enough words to make at least a semblance of a contribution to NaNoWriMo.

Two stories that need to be fleshed out from previous NaNoWriMos, draw me back and want me to get their stories formed into books. In November I have much more inspiration to get words down on paper, or in my case, on the computer screen. These stories are shouting as loudly to me as any others.

Today I am working at a favorite coffee shop, Rogue Roasters. Great coffee and great atmosphere.

Now it’s time to get back to work on at least one of my stories. I think Finny needs me to talk to him. This is a character I hope to introduce to the world in the not too distant future. The others are trying to get my attention, but not communicating not quite as forcefully. I have yet to revisit Ursel. Sophie and Eihpos have been whispering in my ear. There a few others, but they will just need to be patient. Guess I better get back to work.

For now keep the coffee flowing.

Respectfully submitted,

Jodi

It’s Time for NaNoWriMo

I continue to work on two books and a story. Now I need to look into gathering more words and putting them into print.

First I’ll get busy and write the short story that I promised to submit to the contest “Writers of The Future”. I’m not sure exactly what it will be about, but it will deal with two characters I got to know a couple of years ago.

Today is day 2 of NaNoWriMo. I need to get into a conversation with my character, the protagonist in book 2. She has occupied a small portion of my brain for over eleven years now. Hopefully soon, others will get to know her and others in the “Naldo” series of books.

This weekend will give me and others a great opportunity to meet other Wrimos at a local coffeeshop. Together we’ll create our novels. For now I’ll get back to my day and gather a few words for NaNo as well.

Keep the coffee flowing.

Respectfully submitted,
